Consultation by phone or Skype

Get therapy and coaching from the comfort of your home

Many of the world’s top coaches, therapists and EFT practitioners are now delivering their services over the phone or Skype. Some, in fact, work only by phone and no longer see clients in person. I really enjoy working with clients in personal sessions at my office, but I am also appreciating the value of working at a distance.

Advantages of phone consultations

  • It saves clients time and effort because it cuts out travelling
  • It gives clients greater flexibility in choosing the times they are available for therapy
  • It means therapist and client can meet even if they are in different parts of the world
  • It makes ongoing work and follow-up sessions really easy

If you aren’t able to come and see me in my office, I can really recommend a telephone/Skype session. EFT and coaching can very easily be delivered by phone, but I would still recommend that hypnotherapy and past life work be done in person.

How it works

Just contact me by email or phone and we’ll set up a convenient time for the coaching/therapy session. I recommend a 1-hour session for phone consultations. Once the time is confirmed, I will send you payment details.

Okay, so let’s not let distance be an obstacle to greater health and wellness … do contact me and we’ll work together to get you feeling great!

EFT for therapy and self-awareness

Public talk by Russel Brownlee

Venue: One Circle, 85 Main Rd Muizenberg
Date: Wednesday 30 March 2011 18h45 for 19h00 (until 20h30)

EFT is a mind/body healing modality that resolves the negative beliefs and traumatic memories underlying physical and emotional symptoms. It works by the simple action of tapping with the fingers on acupuncture meridian endpoints while thinking about the negative emotion or memory.

People can be forgiven for wondering how such a simple action can release deep-seated issues and traumas, which is why it really needs to be experienced to be appreciated. Hypnotherapist and EFT practitioner Russel Brownlee will discuss the concepts behind EFT and will give a demonstration that will equip participants with the ability to begin using the technique on themselves.

He will also share his insights on how EFT can be used for attracting wealth, creating harmonious relationships, and deepening one’s spiritual connection.

For more information on EFT, see the article Emotional Freedom through EFT .

If you are interested in learning more about EFT, or in actually learning EFT for personal or professional use, please join me in Muizenburg on the 30th.

5 causes of procrastination, and how to beat them

March 14, 2011  |  Coaching  |  No Comments

Procrastination is about putting off a behaviour until later, or simply avoiding it altogether. As all behaviour is actually driven by emotion, the only reason you will avoid doing something is if your mind thinks it’s going to feel unpleasant when doing that task.

I have identified at least 5 common reasons why we procrastinate: Read More

Blame the parents, or why childhood messes you up!

A boy lying in a field - illustrating eft and hypnotherapy for childhood trauma.

I really like the insight from EFT (emotional freedom techniques) that all symptoms – either emotional or physical – are the result of disruptions in our energy fields. In our essence we are whole and complete, but various traumas and negative experiences from the moment we are born (and even before) create blockages in our energy fields. We feel these blockages as repeated negative patterns, thoughts or emotions. Read More

Neurofeedback, amazing new brain therapy

February 4, 2011  |  Blog, Resources  |  No Comments

I’ve just experienced a powerful new therapy that corrects imbalances in the way the brain functions. It’s called neurofeedback, or brain training. While hypnosis changes the 'software' of the brain, neurofeedback changes the actual hardware.

The good things about bad habits

November 22, 2010  |  Blog, Insights  |  No Comments

Many of us spend a lot of time trying to get rid of our bad habits such as smoking, overeating, or drinking. But no matter how hard we try, we just seem to fall back into our old ways as soon as we relax our willpower a bit. It’s like the part that runs the habit is just waiting for a gap, and when it finds one it returns with a vengeance.

How to overcome chronic fear and other heavy stuff

A mindfulness-based approach to coping with fear, anger, grief and other difficult emotions

Most of us have some trigger issues that send us into a tailspin of uncomfortable emotions such as fear, anger and sadness. No matter how much we work with these issues, we still seem to get caught out and become overwhelmed by negativity.

When this happens, we need to take a leap into a different dimension of healing – the field of awareness. When there is something that we simply cannot solve – when our lives are literally stopped and no amount of therapy will get things right – it’s time to consider that perhaps we are not being called upon to cure our affliction but to transcend it.

Transcendence is the ultimate acceptance of whatever it is that we are trying to get rid of. If you think about it, trying to fix something implies a duality – a split between a part that perceives itself as the good and another that is perceived as unwanted or bad. The actual symptom or behaviour might be causing us pain, but the belief that the pain is ‘not us’ and should not be part of us leads to mental suffering. Read More

Hypnotherapy for Impotence

November 9, 2010  |  Blog, Hypnotherapy  |  No Comments

Men are supposed to be strong, brave, and always at the ready – not so? Well that’s the message that society gives us, but the reality is often quite different. Sometimes we simply don’t want to perform, or we feel we just can’t. What should be viewed as just a temporary or minor physical weakness gets blown up into something that threatens our very sense of being. Even the word ‘impotence’ implies a loss of power, that we have somehow become useless.

It’s understandable that men who suffer from impotence – let’s rather call it erectile dysfunction (ED) – don’t want to talk about it, yet actually having ED should be no more embarrassing than having a sore back or some other common complaint. Essentially, most symptoms – whether ED or any other – will have some kind of emotional event that caused them. This event can be as simple as someone making a badly timed and unkind comment, or it can be more complex and involve an ongoing inner conflict. Read More
