Stop smoking

Smoking is largely a deeply embedded habit triggered by some known or unknown patterns or situations that are so strong that willpower and discipline alone are often not enough to change. This is where hypnosis comes in – to understand and change these habits in your subconscious mind.

My sessions are highly personalized and you need to have at least one session of around two hours. If you decide to book an appointment, I will forward you a list of easy-to-perform tasks that you should begin straight away so that you can get the most out of the hypnosis session.

So if you are ready to stop smoking for good, let’s make an appointment and get you started on the road to greatly improved health and wellbeing.

Frequently asked questions:

  • Will you be able to take away my desire to smoke completely?

Let’s be honest – it’s unlikely that anyone will be able to “hypnotize away” your desire to smoke. Hypnosis is not like a being under general anaesthetic and having a sugeon cut out the bad parts – it’s still going to require some determination and work on your part. What the hypnotist does is get you completely aligned with your desire to quit and then begins the process of changing the subconscious programming that governs your habit. You’ll find it easier to say no to cigarettes after the stop-smoking hypnosis session, and you’ll have a lot more energy behind it than if you hadn’t used hypnosis.

  • Can’t you just hypnotise me to make cigarettes taste like manure?

I could certainly hypnotize you to make cigarettes taste horrible, but the effect would probably be cosmetic and after a few days you might find yourself enjoying the taste again. We need to take a bit more time to undo all the triggers and the emotional hooks that prop up your habit.

  • Will I put on weight if I give up smoking?

No. The aim of the hypnosis session will be to replace your smoking habit with health – we will avoid getting you to feel deprived of anything. It’s the feeling of being deprived that sometimes causes people to eat more.

  • Can I afford it?

You are already affording it. A person who currently smokes 20 cigarettes a day will spend about as much money supporting their habit over a month as they will pay to do the hypnosis session. Just think how much money you will save by quitting!

  • Is one session really enough?

It will be enough to get you started on the road to health, provided there are no emotional causes underlying the smoking. In the session we’ll identify any of these and will work on them separately. You might find you would benefit from follow-up sessions, which I offer at a discount. You might also benefit from listening to a self-hypnosis recording to properly associate you into your new identity as a non-smoker. See below for details on this.

Self-hypnosis MP3 downloads

I recommend that anyone giving up smoking should listen to self-hypnosis sessions on a regular basis. Your subconscious mind needs to fully accept the changes you are wanting to make, and this happens through repetition. This Stop Smoking download from Hypnoticworld is quite dreamy and ideal for listening to while dropping off to sleep or when quietly relaxing.

If you really want something a lot stronger, I can recommend this Quit Smoking course from Hypnosisdownloads. It costs a bit more, but it’s a very thorough approach to quitting – ideal if you aren’t working directly with a hypnotherapist.
